
Born on August 2, 1930, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, Robert was the son of the late Justin and Olive Reese. He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in engineering and received a master’s degree in computer science and a PH.D in management information systems from Kennedy Western University. He went on to build a distinguished career spanning over four decades in industrial hardware and computer system integration. A technical author and industry commentator, Robert holds 7 U.S. patents as the inventor of the world’s first digital wristwatch calculator while employed by Pulsar Time Computer Inc., in Lancaster, PA. His work helped shape digital trends throughout the United States, leaving a legacy of integrity, precision, and quiet excellence.
Robert was known not only for his professional accomplishments but for his unwavering commitment to service. A devoted member of the Masonic fraternity for over 60 years, he was awarded the distinguished honor of becoming a 32nd Degree Mason, reflecting his lifelong dedication to the principles of brotherhood, charity, and truth. His fellow brothers remember him as a mentor, a steady presence, and a man who lived the values he espoused. Robert was also a member of the Lions Club, serving for over 40 years including as president of his local chapter. He also served for over ten years as a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America.
Outside of his professional and fraternal life, Robert found his greatest joy in his family, in music and in playing golf. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jessie Joan Reese of Vero Beach, Florida; his two children Lois DeMeester (John) of Sterling, Virginia, and Larry Reese (Jessica) of Wellington, New Zealand and three granddaughters Hanna A. D. Bell (Jarrett) of Atlanta, GA, Madeleine Reese of London, England, and Olivia Reese of Wellington, New Zealand.
Robert will be remembered for his love of golf and for teaching the sport, his gentle humor, steadfast character, the love for his wife, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met.
A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Countryside Mobile Home Park Clubhouse with Masonic rites to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Robert’s name to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Indian River County Florida.
Robert’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
